Oil and natural gas output in November
Our total oil and natural gas output in November was 2.86 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), of which 2.74 million boed produced in Brazil and 120,000 boed abroad.
The average oil production in the country was 2.23 million barrels per day (bpd), up 2 percent compared to October. This outcome is due mainly to the improved operating performance of the platforms working in the complex called Parque das Baleias and of FPSO Cidade de Saquarema, located in the Lula field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt cluster. Another positive factor was the start of operations at a new well connected to FPSO Cidade de Maricá, also in Lula.
Production in the pre-salt
In November, oil production we operate (own and with partners) in the pre-salt layer reached the accumulated mark of 1 billion barrels six years since the first commercial production in the province. This result reflects our technological mastery and efficiency in producing in the deposits contained in that layer.
In November, the oil and natural gas output that we operate in the pre-salt layer was 1.45 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), a 2 percent increase over the previous month.
Moreover, the average oil output we operate in the pre-salt was 1.16 million bpd, 1.5 percent more than the previous month's mark. It is worthy of note that we achieved, together with our partners, a new record in daily production in the province when we produced, on Nov. 09, the volume of 1.25 million barrels of oil.
Natural gas output
Natural gas output in Brazil, excluding the liquefied volume, was 80.5 million m³/day, 3.8 percent more than in the previous month due to the improved operating performance of the platforms in operation at Parque das Baleias and of FPSO Cidade de Saquarema, in addition to the return to operation of FPSO Cidade de Santos after a scheduled shutdown.
The average natural gas output abroad, excluding the liquefied volume, was 9.1 million m³/d, a 5.3 percent drop compared to the previous month, mainly due to the maintenance shutdown of the Hadrian South/Lucius platform.
