We set a record monthly output record in June
Our total oil and gas output in June was 2.90 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), a monthly record. We surpassed the milestone of 2.88 million boed reached in August 2015. This June’s amount was 2 percent higher than the volume produced in May (2.83 million boe), 2.70 million boed of which was produced in Brazil, while 200,000 boed abroad.
Our total oil and natural gas output in Brazil (2.70 million boed) was also a monthly record. We surpassed the previous mark, of 2.69 million boed, set in August 2015.
Considering only oil, the average output in June was 2.3 million barrels per day (bpd), 2 percent above the volume produced in the previous month, which was 2.24 million bpd. Of this total, 2.2 million bpd were produced in Brazil, and 100,000 bpd abroad.
The volume of oil produced in June in Brazil was the third highest monthly average we have recorded. This growth is due mainly to new wells connected to FPSO Cidade de Maricá and Cidade de Itaguaí, in the Lula field, in the Alto Lula and Iracema areas, respectively.
Pre-salt output up 8 percent compared to May and sets new record
In June, the oil and natural gas output we operate in the pre-salt layer rose 8 percent over the previous month and set a new monthly record, reaching the volume of 1.24 million boed.
Also a record in June was the oil output we operate with partners in that province. An average of 999,000 bpd was reached, an 8 percent increase over the previous month’s. Another record set was daily output, with the production of 1.087 million barrels last June 30.
Natural gas production
Our natural gas production in Brazil, excluding the liquefied volume, was 78.8 million m³/day, 3 percent more than in the previous month (76.4 million m³/day).
Abroad, our average natural gas output was 17.2 million m³/d, a 4 percent drop compared to the 17.9 million m³/d achieved in the previous month.
