Electric Energy is one of the types of energy mankind relies on and uses the most, thanks to how easy it is to transport it and due to its low rate of energetic loss during conversions. The main forms of electric energy acquisition are via thermoelectric, hydroelectric, eolian, and thermonuclear plants.
We perform in three electric energy generation segments: via eolian, thermoelectric, and hydroelectric plants.
Thermoelectric plants
At thermoelectric plants, electricity is generated from the conversion of the energy in a fuel (natural gas, for example), which is burnt in a boiler and generates steam from water contained in the tubes that line the boiler’s walls.
We have 15 units in our generator park in Brazil which, together, have installed capacity to produce upwards of 5,000 megawatts. The biggest can produce 1,036 megawatts and 400 tons of steam per hour, enough to supply a city of 4.5 million inhabitants.
The Electric Energy business stands out in Argentina. We generate, transmit, and distribute electricity through thermoelectric plants. To do so, we use our own gas reserves.
